Bursaries A limited number of bursaries are available for gifted British musicians and provide up to 55% of full costs (tuition, accommodation and food) for participating students staying in dormitory accommodation. The number of awards is limited so we recommend that applicants also apply to other grant giving bodies in order not to be disappointed.

Any of the courses that include string players
The Ruth Maguire Memorial Scholarship for a String player

BURSARIES & SCHOLARSHIPS
Procedure for applying for Scholarships and Bursaries
To apply for either a Scholarship or Bursary you should first enrol (paying your £100.00 deposit) in the course of your choice and for which you wish to obtain an award. Your application should be accompanied by a written request for support explaining your reasons for the application. Included with this should be two references - one from someone such as your teacher/tutor/head of department who can comment on your:
Ability, experience and potential; General academic ability; Practical skills; Attitude to work and reliability; and your commitment.
and the second should be a general reference from someone who can give knowledgeable support for your circumstances.
Applications will be accepted until 1st April 2019. All requests will be considered by our Scholarships and Bursaries committee in May 2019 the results of which will be notified to all applicants by the end of that month.
Awards will be deducted from ‘fees due’ and where full scholarships have been awarded enrolment deposits will be refunded.
