Our 2023 choral course embraces inspirational choral music from the seventeenth century to the present day. It includes the exquisite but rarely performed ‘Trinitas’ Mass of Mozart and the gorgeous 1650 setting of the Mass by Monteverdi. By contrast we offer the beautiful Strathclyde Motets of MacMillan and Britten’s colourful Choral Dances from Gloriana. The ‘icing on the cake’ is Fanny Mendelssohn’s Hiob Cantata with its elaborate, rich expression of confidence in mankind. A concert with orchestral accompaniment will be given at the end of the week.

 

We think you will agree, this is a feast of choral repertoire which celebrates some of the best of the last five hundred years. Not to be missed!
